Cron is a service in Linux operating systems referring to the scheduling of one or more commands (referred to as cronjobs) to automatically be executed on the system at specified times, often repeating periodically. Typical uses would be the emailing of daily reports or the deleting of temporary files.
Each user is able to create cronjobs, listed cumulatively under their own crontab. Crontabs indicate, in six columns, the minutes, hours, days, months and weekdays on which a given cronjob should run, as well as the commands to be executed. The cron daemon evaluates the crontab every minute, and should a cronjob that is due to run be found, runs that entry’s command.
konsoleH’s Cronjob Manager is available with a Basic hosting package and higher and allows you to create, edit and remove cronjobs.
