How do I install osCommerce Shopping Cart on my website?

osCommerce (version 2.3.1) is available from the konsoleH control panel of all Basic hosting packages and higher.
If osCommerce has not yet been installed on your website, you should see the status message ‘Not Installed’ on the osCommerce page in konsoleH. If it is installed you will see the status message ‘Installed’ along with a series of links next to it.
Install osCommerce via konsoleH:
- Browse to konsoleH (http://myaccount.hetzner.co.za)
- Login with your Customer number or email address and Management password
- Select or search for a domain name in the ‘Hosting Services’ tab
- Select ‘Software’ from the left-hand menu
- Select ‘osCommerce’
- Click ‘Install’ on the osCommerce page
- This will present the message: ‘The installation of osCommerce was successful’ along with a new series of links on the action bar
Once installed you can setup your shop to your preference. To do this, click on the ‘Shop Admin’ link. This will open a new browser window with the osCommerce administration panel that will allow you to customise almost every aspect of osCommerce.
Click on the e-shop link and you will be directed to your online-shop in a new browser window. The e-shop Info link displays some basic information on osCommerce and also features some links to the osCommerce support community.
Should you wish for SSL to be installed on your website, kindly email your request to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Please keep in mind that there are costs involved when installing SSL.
Should you wish for SSH to be enabled on your domain, kindly email your request to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
Removing osCommerce from your domain:
Should you wish to un-install osCommerce you can simply click on the ‘Remove’ button at the top of the osCommerce page in konsoleH. This will ask you to confirm whether you actually want to remove osCommerce. Be careful when executing this command as it cannot be undone.
Note:
The osCommerce installation is provided for your ease of administration. Ongoing maintenance including regular security updates or upgrades to your existing installation remain your responsibility.
Hetzner does not accept liability should your installation be compromised due to the version of osCommerce installed.
