How do I keep track of my website’s traffic usage?

Access your Traffic statistics via konsoleH:
- Browse to konsoleH (http://myaccount.hetzner.co.za)
- Login with your Client number and Management password
- Select or search for a domain name in the ‘Hosting Service’ tab
- Click ‘Statistics & Reports’
- Select ‘Traffic Usage’
You will see a table and graph depicting the total traffic usage for your domain for the current billing period. This only includes a summary of WWW, SMTP, POP3 and FTP traffic.
For a more granular breakdown of the traffic categories (ports) and to be able to define a date range, Click on ‘Usage Analysis’ (at the top).
To allow you to manage your traffic effectively, konsoleH provides a notification system to forewarn you as you near your account’s over-usage threshold. To personalised these notifications, Click on ‘Notifications’ (at the top).
The default threshold for notifications is 90%, so once you have used 90% of your traffic quota, you will receive an email notification from konsoleH. These notifications will be sent daily (by default), once the threshold is reached. You can adjust both the threshold and interval according to your preference and then Click on ‘Update’ (top right) to save your preferences.
The notification service is only available at a Client Level login and the notification emails are sent to the Profile Owner. Should you elect to disable traffic usage notifications completely, you will not receive any over-usage alerts and will automatically be billed for the over-usage without prior notice.
As your traffic usage fluctuates monthly, we advise that you use the traffic usage tool regularly to ensure that you don’t incur unnecessary traffic costs.
Should you exceed your allocated monthly traffic quota, Hetzner will invoice you for the over-usage at a rate of R0.015 per MB for Micro to Master hosting packages and R0.01 per MB for the Volume Plan.
For more detailed website statistics use programs such as AWStats, which are available in konsoleH under ‘Statistics Reports’ (these programs only report WWW traffic).
