Short for Microsoft Windows, Apache, MySQL and PHP, WAMP is an open source Web development platform that uses Windows as the operating system, Apache as the Web server, MySQL as the RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) and PHP as the object-oriented scripting language. Perl or Python is often substituted for PHP.

WAMP is modelled after the more well-known LAMP, referring to the all-opensource/free software approach which uses Linux instead of Windows.
Hetzner pre-installs WAMP on all TruServ dedicated servers with a Windows operating system.
