You can use a variety of programs to read your email, such as Outlook, Eudora, cell phones, and more.
View the ‘Email setup guides’ section for detailed guides with visuals on how to setup your email account using a specific email client software, for example Outlook.
No matter what program you are using, you need to have five pieces of information to be able to setup your email client correctly:
- Email address: eg. ‘you@your-domain.com’
- Username: This is always the same as your email address.eg. .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Please note that usernames are case sensitive.
- Password: Use the password which you specified when creating the mailbox.
- Incoming Mail Server (POP): This is always your domain name preceded by ‘pop.’ eg pop.your-domain.com. The default port is 110.
- Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): This is always your domain name preceded by ‘smtp.’ eg smtp.your-domain.com. The default port is 587. Enable SMTP Authentication. If SMTP authentication is not catered for by your mail program, please use the SMTP server delegated by your Internet Service Provider instead (eg. smtp.your-isp.co.za).
