Server Recovery tools now available with konsoleH
We are pleased to announce the introduction of a series of Server Recovery tools for all our TruServ™ customers, accessible via our konsoleH™ control panel. Troubleshooting is now made easier with these new tools:
- Linux Rescue System: This tool helps you to remotely repair and/or re-install your Linux Operating System quickly and conveniently.
- vKVM Rescue System: The vKVM System (virtual Keyboard/Video/Mouse System) enables you to start your server's OS via a virtual machine, making it easy to diagnose boot problems or to adjust firewall settings without requiring a remote control unit, e.g. eRIC or LARA.
- Linux Install: With this tool you’re able to install a Linux Operating System onto your server as if you were putting the Linux CD into your server. You can access and use the regular graphical installation via a VNC client, giving you total freedom to install and configure your system to meet your unique set of requirements. Please note this feature only works for certain Linux distributions (view the konsoleH™ tool for more details).
- Wake-On-Lan (WOL): This tool allows you to send a Wake-on-Lan (WOL) signal to power up your server if it has been shut down, either intentionally or unintentionally.
As certain BIOS settings should be enabled on your server in order to use these tools (which may not be the case with older servers), we’d like to encourage our TruServ™ customers to test these tools (without performing actions that could compromise the existing server installation) as soon as possible so that you’re ensured of success in the event of an emergency situation in the future.
