Customer Spotlight: Finegrafix delivers technologically superior digital solutions
What do they do?
Since their inception in 2001, Finegrafix has grown from strength to strength to become a top digital studio in Johannesburg, South Africa. In essence, they specialise in creating content rich online sites and applications to service their growing client base.
With many years of experience in the retail sector, Finegrafix has developed sixty shopping centre websites and has recently launched its own shopping centre portal known as http://www.mallguide.co.za. “Finegrafix serves over 100 GB of traffic a month to thousands of visitors, all thanks to the stable and reliable dedicated servers from Hetzner South Africa”, says Wynand van Niekerk, MD at Finegrafix.
What do they expect from their Web host?
The ever growing demand from their clients forced Finegrafix to extensively probe the hosting provider market to find a hosting partner that suited their work ethic while providing a similar level of client service.
What role does Hetzner play?
Finegrafix moved their hosting over to Hetzner’s Managed Dedicated servers in 2005. Most of Finegrafix’s development is based on open source Linux servers that support PHP and Perl. “We can bare testament that it's not easy to find technical support to maintain and manage servers - keeping them running smoothly, securely and hassle free. In the drive to better serve our clients, some of our requirements would have raised more than eyebrows from other hosting providers,” says Van Niekerk.
Van Niekerk adds that with Hetzner, their automated processes run daily without fail while the Managed Dedicated servers allow them to better distribute traffic in order to maximise efficiency and data delivery to visitors of their websites.
“We also love the fast and positive response from Hetzner Support. Our growing demand for Web development has seen our relationship with Hetzner grow, and we hope to keep doing so in the future,” concludes Van Niekerk.
“The relationship between Finegrafix and Hetzner can best be described using the ‘Pinky and the Brain’ analogy. You guess who is who ... together we will try and take over the world!”
