Paying by debit order? - CVC number required for successful transactions
In order to reduce the threat of fraud, VISA now requires CVC details to accompany every card number for online and debit order transactions.
If you have not already updated your details kindly enter it online to avoid a failed transaction:
1. Browse to konsoleH
- Very important: Verify the URL in your browser before continuing and ensure a lock appears at the bottom right corner in your browser.
- Rule of thumb: If in doubt do not proceed, but rather call the Hetzner contact centre. This principle should be applied to all secure transactions on the web.
2. Login with your Client number and Management password
3. Click on ‘Account Admin’
4. Click on ‘Banking Details’ which will display the current banking details that are in our database
5. Simultaneously submit all your new card details, including CVC number, and select ‘Update Details’
How to avoid site suspension:
- Always ensure that your contact information and payment details are current.
- In the event of a failed transaction, which can occur for numerous reasons, our system will initiated a series of automated email and sms notification, which can result in suspension and even permanent removal of data if left unattended by the customer.
- It is therefore imperative that konsoleH (Hetzner’s customer portal) is current with contact details that are also actively monitored. Web hosting account holders, please note: While failed transactions represent only a very small percentage of our total billing run, their volume is high enough to make personal telephone follow-ups not viable at the cost of the monthly bill.
*Please note that every failed transaction incurs a rejection fee of R50.
