NEW – PHP Configurator in konsoleH
What is PHP?
PHP is a scripting language used by developers to build websites and is available with our Basic account and higher.
Hetzner no longer supports PHP4
In the past, Hetzner has offered both PHP 4 and 5. In 2007, PHP announced the discontinuation of PHP4, meaning that security updates for PHP4 will no longer occur, making the scripting language unstable. As a result of this announcement, Hetzner will discontinue support of PHP4 on 17 November 2009. All servers will be set to the updated PHP5.
What do you need to do?
Check if your site is using PHP4 to start migrating your PHP4 script to PHP5 immediately. Please consult your website developer to assist you with these changes. You (or your website developer) will need to perform debugging and check directives to ensure a smooth migration to PHP5.
To test your site’s compatibility with PHP5, make use of the ‘PHP Config’ tool in konsoleH.
PHP Configurator
The PHP Configurator in konsoleH not only allows you to switch between PHP4 and PHP5 to test compatibility, it also allows you to set the following directives:
